Finally back
No motivation to write for months. Sometimes life takes over. At least I am trying some morning writing exercises. Hope to get back into it soon!

It is just as important to do diligent research as it is to actually put pen to paper (so to speak)

I tried the Pomodoro writing technique tonight and loved it.

Read Read Read - lots of other scripts, articles, books. AND whenever an idea hits your brain - instantly WRITE IT DOWN. Or else it will be gone and you will hate yourself.

Go with the better story - even if that means starting over after you are 26 pages in.

While this script is loosing based on a true story, and I am taking creative licenses, I am realizing this is very close to home and sometimes difficult to write down. It does bring back a lot of painful memories. At the same time it is therapeutic and will hopefully provide great benefits in the future.

Tip of the day: outline! It’s even good to just start out with a logline and create a treatment from there.

It’s really hard to focus on a screenplay when the kids are home and you talk on the phone with an old friend for 5 hours. But just because you cannot actually write a word does not mean you cannot think about structure during the day - well, that’s what I did. Just real important to at least write down some notes, get some sleep and focus tomorrow.
